Going, Going, Bohn |
Former
Bellevue University standout T.J. Bohn has steadily climbed the ranks of
professional baseball since his days wearing the purple and gold in 2002. That
perseverance paid off as the St. Louis Park, Minnesota native reached baseball’s
big stage as a member of the Seattle Mariners. Bohn debuted with a pinch hit at
bat against Ron Villone of the New York Yankees on August 22nd. Bohn’s first
Major League home run, a 2 run blast, came at the expense of Royals reliever
Scott Dohmann. As a Senior at Bellevue University, the outfielder hit .426 with
13 homeruns and 21 stolen bases while helping lead the Bruins to the NAIA World
Series in Lewiston, Idaho. Bellevue University has consistently sent
Student-Athletes into professional baseball during the Mike Evans era, 45 in
all, with Bohn becoming the first to make it to the Major Leagues.
