MCAC All-Conference Baseball Team

I am pleased to report that five members of our 2003 Bruin Baseball Team have earned All-Conference honors.

Lenny Henriquez was named Conference Player of the Year based on his outstanding .539 batting average. Lenny is a sophomore from Brooklyn, New York. During the season he was twice named as Region IV Player of the Week and Conference Player of the Week. Lenny was also named to the All-Conference team as a DH, Designated Hitter.

Rob Wirth, junior from Wonder Lake, Illinois, was named to the First Team All Conference at third base. He led the tem in home runs with 14 and hit .364.

Darrin Meloche, a junior from Stony Plain, Canada, was named as one of the four outfielders on the All-Conference team. Darren hit .374 on the season.

Brian Zeigler, a senior form Bear, Delaware, was named an All-Conference pitcher for his 9-0 record. His record was the best in the Conference.

Luke Faxon, hailing from Portland, Oregon, a junior at Bellevue University, was named the outstanding Relief Pitcher of the Conference for his five saves and having 68 strike outs in 63 innings.

Congratulations to these five Bruin student athletes receiving Honorable Mention for the MCAC were 8 other Bruins:

Last but not least, Mike Evans was named the Conference Coach of the Year for 2003. Congratulations Coach and all 13 Bruins. Continued success in your quest for a National Title!
